OLD FASHION BUTTER SCOTCH PIE 
2 c. scalded milk
1/3 c. flour
2 egg yolks
4 c. sugar
Dash of salt
2 tbsp. butter

Melt white sugar to caramel stage. Pour in scalded milk when sugar is dissolved. Add flour. cool until thick. Add beaten egg yolks. Cook 2 minutes, stirring well.

Cool and add butter and 1 teaspoon vanilla. Pour into a baked pie shell.

Makes 1 thick pie or 2 small ones.
