BOTTOM LAYER: 6 tbsp. butter 1/3 c. brown sugar 1 c. flour 1/2 c. walnuts Beat butter and sugar 1 to 2 minutes. Stir in flour and nuts. Remove 3/4 cup dough and reserve. Press remaining in 8x8x2 inch pan. Bake 15 minutes in 350 degree oven. TOP LAYER: 1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese 1/4 c. sugar 1 egg 2 tbsp. milk 1 tsp. vanilla 1/2 tsp. lemon zest 1 tbsp. lemon juice 2 tbsp. nuts Beat cream cheese and sugar until smooth. Beat in egg, milk and vanilla. Beat in lemon. Spread on bottom layer. Crumble reserved dough over top. Sprinkle with nuts. Bake 30 minutes or until done. Wrap in plastic and store in refrigerator. |
