OUR FAVORITE MEAT LOAF | |
1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce 1/4 c. brown sugar 1/4 c. vinegar 1 tsp. mustard 1 egg 1 med. onion, minced 1/4 c. cracker crumbs 2 lb. ground beef 1 1/2 tsp. salt 1/4 tsp. pepper Combine tomato sauce, brown sugar, vinegar, and mustard in a small bowl. Set aside. Combine egg, onion, cracker crumbs, ground beef, salt, and pepper in a mixing bowl. Add 1/2 cup of the tomato mixture and blend thoroughly. Shape into a loaf pan or oblong baking dish. Make a depression in top of loaf. Pour remaining tomato sauce over top of meat. Bake 1 hour at 350 degrees. Let stand for 10 minutes before serving. |
