LAYERED SPAGHETTI CASSEROLE 
1 pkg. (8 oz.) vermicelli
1 to 1 1/2 lbs. ground beef
3 tbsp. olive oil
1 lg. onion, chopped
1 clove garlic, minced
1 container (32 oz.) prepared spaghetti sauce
1 container (15 oz.) ricotta cheese
1 egg, beaten
1/4 c. grated Parmesan cheese
2 c. shredded Mozzarella cheese

Prepare vermicelli according to package directions; drain. In large skillet, brown ground beef; drain. Set beef aside. In same skillet, heat olive oil; add onion and garlic. Cook until onion is tender. Stir in beef and spaghetti sauce. Simmer 10 minutes. In medium bowl, blend ricotta, egg and Parmesan cheese. In lightly greased 13 x 9 inch baking dish, layer one half each vermicelli, ricotta mixture, spaghetti sauce, Parmesan and Mozzarella cheeses. Repeat layers. Cover. Bake in a 350 degree oven until hot, about 30 minutes. Refrigerate leftovers. 6 to 8 servings.

This casserole is fabulous. I would make it and send it to college with my son. You have to try it to appreciate it. It can be made ahead of time.
