WATERCHESTNUT AND BACON HORS D'OEUVRES | |
2 (8 oz.) cans water chestnuts (drained) 1/2 lb. bacon strips 1/2 c. honey 1/2 c. Heinz 57 steak sauce Toothpicks (round works well) Mix honey and Heinz 57 sauce together in saucepan on low heat. Cut bacon strips in 1/2 and trim excess fat. Wrap around water chestnuts. Large chestnuts may be cut in 1/2. Secure with toothpick. Bake in 9 x 13 inch dish at 350 degrees until bacon is cooked thoroughly. Place bacon wrapped waterchestnuts into sauce mix, stir to coat. Serve hot. Works well in fondue pot or electric frying pan. |
