SAUSAGE STRATA | |
12 slices white bread 1 lb. Swiss cheese 2 lbs. bulk pork sausage 1/4 c. red pepper, diced 1/4 c. green pepper, diced 2 tsp. mustard 6 lg. eggs 4 c. milk 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce 1/8 tsp. pepper 1/8 tsp. salt 1/8 tsp. nutmeg Saute sausage and peppers until browned. Drain well. Stir in mustard. Remove crusts from bread and place in a 9"x13" greased pan, top with sausage mix and grated Swiss cheese. In a separate bowl beat eggs, milk, Worcestershire sauce and spices. Pour over layers in pan and cover. Refrigerate overnight. Bake, uncovered for 40 to 50 minutes at 350 degrees. Makes a great Christmas or Easter brunch meal. |
