CHERRY NUT ROLL 
4 c. flour
1 c. Crisco
1 c. sugar
4 tsp. baking powder
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
add milk to vanilla and eggs to make 1 cup
2 1/2 c. sliced maraschino cherries
2 c. chopped walnuts
4 tbsp. grape jelly

Mix dry ingredients with softened shortening. Add liquid to mixture. If necessary add more flour. Divide dough into 4 equal parts. Roll out on floured surface to less than 1/4 inch. Spread about 1/2 to 3/4 cups of sliced cherries, 1/2 cup of chopped walnuts, and drop about 2 or 3 teaspoons of jelly on each roll. Roll up each and place on cookie sheet. (Only 2 per cookie sheet). Bake at 325 degrees for 30 minutes or until lightly brown.
