CHOCOLATE FUDGE CAKE 
1/2 c. butter, softened
1/2 c. shortening
2 c. granulated sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
2 1/4 c. all-purpose flour
1/2 c. Hershey's cocoa
1 1/4 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 1/3 c. water

Combine butter, shortening and sugar in large bowl. Add eggs and vanilla; blend thoroughly. In a separate bowl combine flour, cocoa, baking soda and salt. Add alternately with water to creamed mixture.

Pour into two greased and floured 9 inch round or two 8 inch square cake pans. Bake at 350 degrees for 35-40 minutes for 9 inch layer or 40-45 minutes for 8 inch layer or until cake tester comes out clean. Cool 10 minutes. Remove from pans. Cool completely on wire racks and frost with favorite frosting.
