BAKED RICE AND CHEESE 
1 c. uncooked rice
1 c. tomatoes
1 qt. water
1 med. sized onion
5 tbsp. sugar
2 tsp. salt
3/4 lb. cheese

Boil rice in water with tomatoes, onion, salt, and sugar. When rice is soft, place one layer of mixture in a greased baking dish. Then add a layer of diced cheese. Add more of the rice mixture and top with cheese. Bake at 350 degrees for 35-40 minutes. Serves 6.
