CREAMED ONIONS 
2 tbsp. cornstarch
1/2 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. ground nutmeg
1/8 tsp. pepper
1 3/4 c. milk
3 tbsp. butter
2 lb. sm. white boiling onions

In a 2 quart sauce pan, stir together cornstarch, salt, nutmeg and pepper. Gradually stir in milk, keeping smooth; add butter. Stirring constantly over medium heat bring to a boil and boil until thickened. Add onions. Stirring often, cook until heated through, about 2 minutes. Makes 8 servings.
