SAUSAGE BREAD | |
1 pkg. frozen bread dough 2 lbs. bulk sausage 3 eggs, beaten 2 1/2 c. Mozzarella, shredded butter Defrost and let rise 2 loaves of the frozen bread (3/pacakge). Meanwhile, cook, and drain well the sausage, allow to cool. Add the cheese and eggs to the sausage, mix. Grease cookie sheet or jelly roll pan. Preheat oven to 350. On greased heavy duty foil, flatten out one loaf of the bread dough to form a long rectangle. Place half of the sausage mixture down center of dough. Pull edges together and pinch to seal (will look like a loaf of French bread). Picking up the foil, flip seam side down into jelly roll pan. Repeat with second loaf. Bake at 350 for 30 minutes. Remove from oven. Run butter over hot bread. Cool on cake racks (bread will sweat if cooled in pan). May serve hot, room temperature or cold. Option: You may substitute 2 (10 ounce) packages of spinach for sausage. Add extra cheese if you like. |
