BANBERRY SURPRISE 
*Cake:

2 (3 oz.) boxes strawberry gelatin
2 cups boiling water
1 cup strawberry soda pop
banana slices
1 box white or yellow cake mix

Dissolve gelatin in boiling water. Add strawberry soda pop and cool completely. Mix cake according to package directions (do not use cake mix with pudding in it).

Bake in 13 1/2 x 9 1/2 x 2 inch greased and floured pan. Let cool completely. After cake is cooled, using potato peeler, poke lots of holes all the way to the bottom. Pour gelatin and soda pop mixture over cake. Cover entire top of cake with thick sliced bananas.

*Icing:

1- 5 1/2 oz. box vanilla or coconut cream instant pudding
2 1/2 cups milk
1- 9 oz. container Cool Whip

Mix together instant pudding and milk. After it thickens slightly, add prepared whipped topping. Mix together and spread over bananas on cake. Top with coconut and chopped nuts (optional). Keep refrigerated.
