FLAKY CHEESE TWISTS 
2 c. flour
3/4 tsp. salt
1 1/2 c. shredded cheddar cheese
1/4 tsp. paprika
3/4 c. soft butter
1/3-1/2 c. cold water

Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Sift flour, salt and paprika together. Cut in 1/2 cup butter making coarse crumbs. Add cheese and mix well. Sprinkle with water and mix lightly. Press into a ball. Roll out on a lightly floured surface to 10 x 16 inch rectangle. Spread on 2 tablespoons butter and fold 4 corners to the center. Repeat this step. Wrap with wax paper. Chill for 30 minutes.

Roll out 1/4 inch thick. With floured knife or pastry cutter wheel, cut into strips 1/2 x 4 inches and twist. Bake on an ungreased sheet at 400 degrees for 10-12 minutes. Can be rolled and baked 2 weeks ahead. Reheat in oven for a few minutes before serving.
