AUNT TINA'S TEA CAKES 
1 c. butter
1 heaping c. sugar, plus 2 tbsp. granulated
2 eggs
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
2 1/2 to 3 c. flour (all purpose)
3 tbsp. buttermilk
2 tsp. vanilla
1/4 tsp. maple flavoring

Cream butter and sugar in large bowl until well blended, add eggs, buttermilk, vanilla and maple flavoring. Beat well. Combine salt, baking soda, flour. Add to the creamed mixture.

Spoon half dollar size drops of batter on slightly greased cookie sheet. Sprinkle with granulated sugar. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes or until brown.
