6 eggs 1 tbsp. vanilla 1 (14 oz.) can condensed milk 1 (13 oz.) can evaporated milk 1/2 can of water 1 oz. rum STEP 2: 3/4 c. sugar 3 tbsp. water Beat all 6 eggs alone, but do not over beat. Pour the 2 cans of milk, 1/2 can of water, vanilla and rum over the beaten eggs. In top of double boiler, pour in sugar and water and stir over medium heat until sugar has dissolved. Boil until mixture begins to have a caramel color. Turn down heat and spread mixture all around the bottom pan (top of double boiler). Caramel should stick to pan. Pour in mixture from Step 1. Continue to cook for 1 hour over low heat. Chill before serving. |
