TWINKIE CAKE 
1 yellow cake mix
5 tbsp. flour
1 c. milk
1 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 c. Crisco
1/2 c. butter
1 tsp. vanilla

Mix and bake cake according to package directions. Mix flour and milk in a saucepan; boil until thick, stirring constantly. Set aside to cool. In a large mixing bowl, beat sugar, baking soda, Crisco, butter, and vanilla until fluffy. Add the cooled milk mixture and beat again until fluffy (about 5 minutes). Take cake out of pan and cut through to make 2 layers. Frost bottom layer and then top layer. Cut into bars. Makes 12 to 15 bars.
