OATMEAL CAKE 
1 1/3 c. boiling water
1 c. quick oatmeal
1 c. brown sugar
1 1/2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
2 eggs
1 1/2 c. shortening

Pour water over oats and let stand 20 minutes. Add 2 eggs and 1 1/2 cups shortening. Stir in next 6 ingredients.

FROSTING:

6 tbsp. butter
1 c. coconut
1/2 c. brown sugar
1/4 c. milk
1 c. nuts

Take cake out of oven, spread on frosting. Put oven on broil, broil until light brown and bubbly.
