SALTED PEANUT CHEWS 
1 pkg. yellow cake mix
1 egg
1/3 c. butter, softened
3 c. miniature marshmallows

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In large bowl combine all ingredients except marshmallows at a low speed until crumbly. Press in bottom of pan (ungreased) 9 x 13 inch. Bake at 350 degrees for 12-18 minutes. Remove from oven and sprinkle marshmallows on top. Return to oven 1-2 minutes until marshmallows begin to puff. Cool while preparing topping.

TOPPING:

2/3 c. white syrup
1/4 c. butter
2 tsp. vanilla
1 (12 oz.) pkg. peanut butter chips
2 c. crisp rice cereal
2 c. salted peanuts

In large saucepan heat syrup, butter, vanilla and chips just until chips are melted and mixture is smooth, stirring constantly. Remove from heat; stir in cereal and peanuts. Immediately spoon warm topping over marshmallows. Spread to cover. Chill, cut in bars. Store covered.
