FRESH PEACH KUCHEN
Kuchen is a German pie. You make a muerbeteig, which is a pie dough that is patted into the pan. Then add fruit.

DOUGH:

1 1/2 c. flour
1 1/2 sticks butter
2 egg yolks or 1 egg
2 tbsp. sugar

FILLING:

8-10 lg. fresh peaches
1 c. sugar mixed with 3 heaping tsp. cornstarch
1 1/2 c. half and half

Mix dough ingredients. Pat evenly into 9"x13" pan. Build up sides. Sprinkle flour over dough so whole bottom is covered with a thin layer. Peel and slice peaches. Arrange peaches neatly on the bottom of the pan (in neat rows). Sprinkle sugar and cornstarch evenly over peaches. Then pour 1 to 1 1/2 cups half and half over peaches. Sprinkle top with cinnamon.

Bake in a 400 degree oven for 15 minutes. Then turn down to 350 degrees and bake 3/4 to 1 hour, until custard is firm.

Serve with vanilla ice cream. It's delicious the next day too. (Make sure you refrigerate it.)
