Cake Mix Cookies

Jan, I just made these cookies. Strawberry cake mix and a cup of oatmeal. Put Hershey kiss on top as soon as they came out of the oven. I put in the same amount of applesauce in instead of the oil. The cookies turned out very good. Love this easy recipe. Endless possibilities. Taking to my co-workers today but saved some for my husband too.

Very good recipe. I had nothing to add to the batter so I cut up a Babe Ruth and it was awesome. Nice and sweet!

This is to Shalanna Collins of Texas... What I usually do is rotate my pan from bottom to top... The 1st-half of cooking on the bottom rack and then the 2nd-half of cooking on the top rack. This eliminates burning and the cookies/cake has a golden-brown bottom. -tdr-

I've also tried this recipe with yellow-butter cake mix & crumbled Butterfingers candy... Very good. I've also made these with guava-paste...Big hit! -tdr-

I made these cookies at my mothers suggestion I was SKEPTICAL, however upon making them I have become the most popular person amongst my friends. They call me the cookie man and tell me I should open a sweets shop. thank you so much this is FABULOUS with Betty Crocker Super Moist. I have found this recipe works best with that brand but good with others. Careful with modifications like fruit puree and such alters water if any at all.

I want to add vanilla extract to this recipe but not sure how much. Any suggestions?

 Pat. Lewis (Texas) says:
Ms. T (USA) One to two teaspoons of vanilla (or almond or any other extract, depending on the type of cake mix) would be fine. Pat. (TX)

I put a large dollop of sour cream (about 1/4 cup) in the mix to make the dough less stiff and the cookies turned out great!!! They were soft and crumbled just like a cake would. I baked for about 12-13 minutes. I used white cake mix and carefully spread some white canned frosting on top. Tastes just like a piece of cake!!!!! :)

Great cookie but only bake for 11-12 min. no more or they turn hard.
