BAKED ACORN SQUASH 
2 sm. acorn squash
4 slices bacon, partially fried
4 tbsp. maple syrup
4 tsp. butter
Salt and pepper

Cut squash in halves, scooping out seeds. Put in Pyrex baking pan with cut side up. In the hollow of each half put one strip of bacon, 1 tablespoon maple syrup and 1 teaspoon butter. Salt and pepper to taste. Cover casserole and bake for 1 hour at 350 degrees until squash is tender.
