APPLE BANANA CRUNCH PIE
1 prepared pie shell (I use Pillsbury)

FILLING:

1 (21 oz.) can sliced apple pie filling
2 medium bananas, peeled and cut into chunks (2 cups)
4 tsp. lemon juice

CRUMB TOPPING:

1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1/3 cup granulated sugar
1/3 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup (1 stick) butter
1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp. ground nutmeg

In a bowl combine apples, bananas and lemon juice; let stand about 5 to 10 minutes.

Meanwhile, to make crumb mixture, combine flour, both sugars, cinnamon and nutmeg; cut in butter till crumbly. Place apples and bananas in a baked pastry shell. Sprinkle crumb mixture atop fruit.

Note: To prevent over-browning, cover edge of pie with foil.

Bake at 375°F for 20 minutes. Remove foil, bake for 20 minutes more.

Serve with whipped cream, ice cream or both.
