DILL PICKLES 
1 c. salt
1 gallon well water or spring water
1 tbsp. powdered alum
Garlic and onion and dill

Wash small pickles. Pack in sterilized jar. Place a small clove of garlic and dill in bottom of jar. Place slice of onion over pickles. Heat salt, water and alum; pour over pickles and seal. Heat jar lids.
