THUMBPRINT COOKIES 
1 tsp. salt
1 c. Crisco shortening
2/3 c. sugar
3 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs
3 1/4 c. flour
Raspberry preserves

Blend all ingredients except flour in a bowl and mix well. Add flour and mix thoroughly. Form dough into small balls and place on ungreased cookie sheet. Dent each center with your thumb and fill with preserves. If you have a pastry bag, use that to fill cookies. Bake for 12-15 minutes at 375 degrees.
