ENGLISH TOFFEE 
1 c. sliced almonds
2 c. butter
2 c. sugar
2 tbsp. light Karo syrup
6 tbsp. water
1 tsp. vanilla
8 oz. milk chocolate chips or Hershey bars

Cook almonds, butter, sugar, syrup and water to 290 degrees on medium heat. Add vanilla, pour into buttered sided cookie sheet. Cool 10 minutes. Top with chips or Hershey bars, spread evenly.
