CABBAGE PLATE 
3 c. coarsely chopped cabbage
2 c. sliced carrots
1 c. chopped celery
1 c. chopped onion
1 tbsp. sugar
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 c. salad oil
2 c. hot water

Combine cabbage, carrots, celery, onion; add seasonings and salad oil. Mix thoroughly. Add water and cook just tender, about 15 minutes. Serves 8.
