GRANDMA'S MOCHA CAKES | |
3 eggs 1 c. sugar 1/4 c. lukewarm water 1 c. flour 1 level tsp. baking powder Cream yolks, sugar and add water. Add flour, sifted with baking powder. Beat whites of eggs stiff and fold in mixture. Bake in moderate oven. Cool. FROSTING: 1/2 c. butter Powdered sugar 1 tsp. instant coffee 1/2 tsp. vanilla To the creamed butter add enough powdered sugar to make thick enough to spread, about like batter. Add instant coffee and vanilla. When cake is cooled cut in squares and spread. Roll in ground peanuts that have been put through a grinder. |
