GREAT GRANDMA'S CHOCOLATE CAKE 
1 c. butter
2 c. sugar
3 eggs
3 c. flour
1 1/2 c. buttermilk
2/3 c. cocoa
1/2 c. brewed coffee
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. vanilla

Cream butter and sugar, add eggs; beat well. Add cocoa and coffee, which have been mixed together. Mix soda and salt with flour. Add flour and buttermilk alternately to creamed mixture. Bake at 375 degrees for 35-45 minutes in 9x13 pan. Frost with your favorite chocolate buttercream frosting.
