CHOCOLATE YEAST CAKE 
1 c. shortening
2 c. sugar
3 eggs
1 c. sweet milk
3 c. flour
1/4 tsp. salt
1 cake yeast, dissolved 1/4 cup warm water
1/2 c. cocoa
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. walnuts, chopped

Cream butter, sugar, add well beaten eggs then add dry ingredients alternately with milk and yeast solution. Mix in cocoa and let stand overnight in refrigerator. Then add soda and 4 tablespoons boiling water, add vanilla and nuts. Place in 3 pans. Bake at 375 degrees for 30 minutes. Frost as desired.
