CARROT AND APPLE CASSEROLE 
1 lb. carrots
1 (12 oz.) can pie apples
1/2 c. white or brown sugar
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
1/8 tsp. nutmeg
2 tbsp. butter

Peel and cook carrots until tender. Spread carrots and apples in flat casserole dish. Sprinkle sugar and spices on top and dot with butter. Bake at 350 degrees for about 1/2 hour.

A nice accompaniment for pork and poultry.
