PUMPKIN LAYER CAKE 
2 c. granulated sugar
2 c. all-purpose flour
2 tsp. baking pwoder
2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. cloves
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1/4 tsp. ginger
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. oil
1 (1 lb.) can pumpkin
3 extra lg. eggs, slightly beaten
1/4 c. raisins
1/4 c. chopped nuts
Cream cheese frosting

Blend together sugar, flour, baking powder, soda, spices and salt at medium speed of mixer until well blended. Add oil. Continue to beat until dry ingredients are moistened. Add pumpkin. Mix again until well blended. Add eggs. Beat 1 minute longer. Stir in raisins and nuts.

Turn batter into 2 lightly greased, waxed paper-lined 9-inch cake pans. Smooth tops. Bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes or until tester inserted in center comes out clean. Cool on rack. Remove from pans and remove paper. Fill and frost with Cream Cheese Frosting.
