PAPRIKA CHEESE STICKS
1 1/2 c. all-purpose flour, sift
1 tbsp. paprika
1/8 tsp. red pepper
1 c. (4 oz.) grated mild Cheddar cheese
1/2 c. salt free butter
3 tbsp. cold water

Sift together flour, paprika, red pepper. Blend in cheese. Add butter and cut with pastry blender, or two knives until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

Add water 1 teaspoon at a time, mixing lightly after each addition. (Add only enough water to hold pastry together). Shape into ball, being careful not to handle too much. Roll on lightly floured board 1/4 inch thick.

Cut into 3 x 1/2 inch strips. Place on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake in a preheated very hot oven at 450 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes. Cool on racks. 4 1/2 dozen.
