GUMDROP CAKE 
2 c. water
2 c. sugar
1 box raisins
1 tsp. baking soda
1 c. shortening
4 c. flour
1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. cloves
1 tsp. allspice
1 tsp. baking powder
1 c. chopped pecans
1 c. gumdrops (small), cut up (not black)

Let water, sugar, raisins and soda boil for 5 minutes; cool. Add shortening. Let this mixture be completely cool and add flour, cinnamon, cloves, allspice, baking powder, pecans and gumdrops. Place in tube pan, greased and floured.

Bake 2 1/2 hours in 300°F oven. Store while hot in box. Cover as soon as possible.
