SOY GLAZED CHICKEN 
1 (4 to 5 lb.) chicken, whole
2 tbsp. onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
Salt
Pepper
1 tsp. five spice powder (available in Oriental section of some markets)
1/2 c. soy sauce
1 tbsp. oil

Place chicken in a bag. Blend other ingredients and pour over chicken. Refrigerate at least 3 hours, overnight is best, turning occasionally. Place chicken in baking dish, pour marinade over. Cover. Bake at 375 degrees for 1 1/2 hours or until done. Uncover during last 1/2 hour to brown. Good with rice and stir fried vegetables. The 5-spice powder gives this an unusual but wonderful flavor. Serves 4 to 6.
