EGGLESS, MILKLESS, BUTTERLESS
RAISIN CAKE
 
1 c. brown sugar
1 c. white sugar
1/2 c. shortening
2 c. raisins
2 c. water
3 c. flour, sifted
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. cloves
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. salt

Boil the two (2) sugars, shortening, raisins and water together until raisins are soft. When cool, add flour, soda, baking powder, cloves, nutmeg, cinnamon and salt.

Bake at 350-375 degrees for 30-40 minutes, depending on your oven. Use a 9 x 13 inch greased and floured pan.

If desired, this cake can be iced with your favorite icing or topping.
