HELEN'S CHRISTMAS POUND CAKE | |
8 eggs 1 c. Crisco 1 c. butter 2 c. sugar 4 c. plain flour or cake flour 1 tsp. baking powder 2 oz. lemon flavoring 1 c. chopped pecans 4 oz. candied cherries, diced 4 oz. mixed fruit, diced Cream Crisco, butter, sugar together. Add eggs, beating well. Sift flour and baking powder together. Add flour in small amounts at a time. Use 1/2 cup of the flour to put over the diced fruit and nuts. Add this to batter. Stir in lemon flavoring. Bake at 250 degrees for 2 to 3 hours, depending on the oven. |
