PASTRY FOR FRIED PIES | |
3 c. all-purpose flour 1 tsp. salt 3/4 c. shortening 1 egg, well beaten 1 tsp. vinegar 1/4 c. water Mix flour, salt and shortening with pastry cutter or fork until coarse like meal. Add water and egg mixed together. Sprinkle over flour mix with the teaspoon of vinegar and mix well until it forms a ball. Work on wax paper. Chill 1 hour or until ready to use. Makes 1 1/2 dozen 5 inch pies. Note: Add more water if needed. |
