SOUR DOUGH BRAN MUFFINS | |
1 c. boiling water 1 c. Nabisco All Bran 2 c. Kellogg's Bran (flaky) 2 1/2 c. flour 1/2 tsp. salt 2 1/2 tsp. baking soda 1/2 c. Crisco shortening 1 c. sugar 2 eggs, slightly beaten 2 c. buttermilk 1 lg. pkg. frozen blueberries Pour 1 cup boiling water over bran cereals. Stir well, cool, and set aside. Sift flour, salt and soda. Set aside. Cream shortening and sugar. Add eggs and buttermilk. Now add the bran mixture. Mix well. Add the flour mixture and put in the blueberries. Fill the muffin tins (papered or oiled and floured) nearly full. Bake at 400 degrees for 30 to 35 minutes. Makes 36 muffins. |
