PIZZA CRUST 
1 pkg. active dry yeast
3/4 c. warm water
3/4 c. warm milk
1/4 c. sugar
2 1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 c. shortening (liquid)

Dissolve yeast in warm water. Stir in milk, sugar, salt, shortening and 2 1/2 cups flour. Beat until smooth. Mix in enough more flour to form stiff dough.

Turn dough onto lightly floured surface; knead until smooth and elastic (about 5 minutes). Place in greased bowl; turn greased side up. Cover; let rise in warm place until double. Punch down.

Shape onto greased pizza pan which has been lightly sprinkled with corn meal. Let rest for 10 minutes. Bake at 275 degrees for 25-30 minutes. Remove from oven. Add sauce and other toppings. Return to oven. Increase temperature to 400 degrees until bubbly (20 minutes).
