2 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
3/4 c. butter, softened
1 c. brown sugar, firmly packed
3/4 c. Karo syrup (light or dark)
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. pecans, chopped
1 (12 oz.) pkg. chocolate chips

Mix flour, baking soda and salt; set aside. Beat butter and sugar until fluffy. Add Karo syrup, egg and vanilla. Add flour mixture; blend. Add pecans and one half of chocolate chips. Spread in ungreased 15 1/2 x 10 1/2-inch cookie sheet. Put remaining chocolate chips on top. Bake in 350 degree oven for 30 minutes. Cut in squares.
