SUGAR PLUM SHERRIED WALNUTS 
1 1/2 c. packed brown sugar
1/4 c. sherry (or orange juice)
1 tsp. apple pie spice or pumpkin pie spice
5 to 6 c. walnuts pieces or halves
Granulated sugar
2 tbsp. corn syrup
1/4 tsp. salt

Mix brown sugar, sherry, corn syrup, spice and salt together in heavy saucepan. Heat only until sugar dissolves and mixture bubbles.

Place walnuts in large bowl. Slowly pour syrup mixture over walnuts and stir until well coated.

Pour about 1 cup granulated sugar in large plastic bag. Add pieces of walnuts and toss to lightly coat walnuts. Dry on baking sheets. Store in loosely covered box.
