SUGAR PLUM RAISIN SQUARES 
1/2 cup (1 stick) butter
1 cup brown sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
1 cup sifted flour

Preheat oven to 325°F.

Blend butter with sugar and salt until fluffy. Mix in flour. Using a spatula, spread in a square brownie pan (8x8 or 9x9-inch). Bake at 325°F for 15 minutes.

RAISIN FILLING:

2 eggs
1 cup packed brown sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1/4 tsp. salt
2 tbsp. all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 cup chopped raisins
3/4 cup flaked coconut
3/4 cup chopped nuts

Beat eggs with sugar and vanilla. Stir in dry ingredients. Add raisins, coconut, and nuts.

Note: other dry fruits may be substituted.

Spoon filling over baked crust. Continue baking 25-30 minutes until filling is set.

Cool and cut into squares.
