CUBE STEAK (BAVARIAN STYLE) 
4 beef cubed steaks, 1 to 1 1/4 lbs.
1 tbsp. cooking oil
2 1/2 c. water
2 tbsp. brown sguar
1 tsp. caraway seed
1/3 c. chopped onion
2 envelopes mushroom gravy mix
2 tbsp. vinegar

In large skillet, quickly brown steaks on both sides in hot oil. Add onions; cook until onion is almost tender, about 5 minutes. Combine water, mushroom gravy mix, brown sugar, vinegar, and caraway seed, pour over steaks in skillet. Cover, simmer for 15 minutes. Skim off excess fat. Serve with gravy. Makes 4 servings.
