ORANGE CAKE 
1/2 c. butter or shortening
1 c. brown or white sugar
2 eggs, beaten
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda dissolved in 1 cup buttermilk or sour milk
1 c. raisins
Peel of 1 orange (grind peel together)
2 1/2 c. flour

Cream butter and sugar. Add beaten eggs. Add ground orange peel and raisins. Alternate dry and liquid ingredients to creamed butter and sugar mixture. Bake for 35 minutes at 350 degrees. Bake in greased angel food pan.

ORANGE ICING:

Juice of 1 orange
1/2 c. white sugar

Let stand until it makes a syrup. Then slowly pour over warm cake and let it stand in pan. Take out of pan when all icing is dissolved in cake.
