OLD FASHION POUND CAKE 
1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. shortening
2 c. sugar
4 eggs
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 c. buttermilk
3 c. flour
1/8 tsp. salt
2 tsp. lemon extract
1 tsp. almond extract

Cream butter and shortening. Add sugar; beating until light. Add eggs, one at a time. Dissolve soda in buttermilk. Combine flour and salt. Add to creamed mixture alternately with buttermilk. Start and end with flour mixture. Stir lemon and almond flavorings. Pour batter into a greased and floured 10 inch tube pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour and 5 minutes, or until wooden pick inserted comes out clean. Cool 10-15 minutes. Remove from pan.
