CHERRY COFFEE CAKE 
1 c. butter
1 3/4 c. sugar
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 can cherry pie filling
3 c. flour
4 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla

Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs, one at a time, beating after each one. Add vanilla, baking powder and flour. Put 2/3 of batter in greased 10 x 15 inch jelly roll pan. Spread the can of cherry pie filling over this.

Drop rest of batter on top by teaspoonsful. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes. Frost with powdered sugar frosting while still warm. Any pie filling can be used. This freezes well.
