BANANA BREAD 
1 1/2 c. sifted all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1/3 c. shortening
3/4 c. firmly packed Domino light brown sugar
2 eggs
1 c. (2-3) mashed ripe bananas
1/2 c. milk
1/2 c. walnuts, chopped

Sift flour, soda and salt together. Cream shortening and sugar thoroughly. Add eggs and bananas, beating until light. Alternately add flour mixture and milk. Beat after each addition until smooth. Add nuts. Pour batter into greased 9"x5" loaf pan. Bake in moderate oven, 350 degrees, 1 hour 5 minutes, or until done. Remove pan. Cool on rack. Wrap in foil or plastic wrap and store overnight before slicing. Yield: 1 loaf.
