NO SUGAR APPLE PIE | |
Pastry for 9" pie crust 1 (6 oz.) frozen apple juice concentrate, undiluted 3/4 tsp. cinnamon 3 c. apple slices (be generous) 1 tbsp. cornstarch (increase the cornstarch & juice if you increase apple slices) 2 tbsp. water Heat undiluted apple juice and cinnamon in a large saucepan. Add the apple slices (slice the apples a little thicker than for a regular pie). Cook only until partly tender. Mix the cornstarch and water until smooth. Add a little at a time to the apple and juice mixture, stirring constantly, until it is thickened. Remove from heat and cool until only warm. Fill unbaked crust, dot with butter. Fit and trim the top crust. Bake at 375 degrees for 45 minutes or until the crust is a golden brown. |
