SUGAR FREE NEW ENGLAND APPLE PIE 
2 c. unbleached flour
2/3 c. butter
6-7 tbsp. water

FILLING:

3/4 c. raisins
3/4 c. water
7-8 cooking apples
1 tbsp. lemon juice
2 tbsp. unbleached flour
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
Dash of ginger
Dash of ground cloves

Measure flour and butter into a small mixing bowl and mix well. Add water gradually using just enough to form a soft dough. Divide dough in half, roll each half into a ball, flatten and roll out on floured surface to 1/8 inch thickness. Fit one pastry circle into 9 inch pie pan and reserve remaining pastry to cover filling. In a small saucepan combine raisins with 3/4 cup water and bring to a boil. Remove from heat and allow to stand, covered, 10 minutes to soften. Drain water, combine raisins and sliced apples, lemon juice, flour and spices. Spoon into pastry lined pan put filling in the center. Cover with reserved pastry crimp edge, slit top. Bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes or until crust is browned.

This could be called "Reduced Sugar Apple Pie", but it is not sugar free. It doesn't have added sugar, but raisins are loaded with sugar.
