JAM CAKE 
1 c. butter
1 c. sugar
1 c. nuts
1 c. blackberry jam
2 slices candied pineapple
1 pkg. dates
1 c. raisins
1 c. marshmallows
1 c. orange slices
1 c. candied cherries
1 tbsp. baking soda (dissolved in milk)
9 tbsp. buttermilk
2 1/2 c. flour (1/2 c. to dredge nuts and fruit)
1 tbsp. allspice
1 tbsp. cinnamon
1 tbsp. nutmeg
5 whole eggs (separated)

Cream butter and sugar. Add well beaten egg yolks, flour, milk, jam, soda mixture and other fruits that have been dredged in flour. Fold in beaten egg whites. Bake at 350 degrees until cake tester comes out clean.
